Check Book Covers

Leopard prints have been my most popular ones. They all have a colorful lining and all have decorative stitching.  There are no two alike.  They are fun and easy to find in your purse. Most of all they are not bulky like most check books.

Fall Leaf Table Runner

The name of this table runner is called "Leaves".  I took a class at my local quilting store.  This was a lot of work, but I loved making it.  It is amazing at how beautiful the leaves came out.  The material used were all Batiks.  It is also reversible.  This was a kit and I have made a couple of these already.

Jungle Cat Quilt

The quilt covers the top of a Queen size bed.  The copper color around the border is a very beautiful material with a copper metalic look.  It is by Michael Miller called Fairy Frost.  I think it is very elegant and it really gives the quilt a rich look.  I made this for my sister Veronica.

History in the Making

This was my first quilt I made about 6 years ago.  Did you know that in the United States quilters sent messages to the fugitive slaves, over 150 years ago, by encoding messages within quilt patterns and displaying them on a fence post, windows or clothes lines, helping them escape on the Underground Railroad.

If you have not read the book, "Hidden in Plain View" a secret story of quilts and the Underground Railroad.  Authors Jacqueline L. Tobin and Raymond G. Dobard, Ph.D.  I recommend reading this book. Not only is this a look back into the history of this country but history of quilting generations.

Leopard Print Place Mats

Place Mats I made for my friend Doreen in Florida. Doreen has a bit of a jungle print going in her living and dining room. She was so excited when I gave here these, a set of four.  A very nice accent on her dining room table.  They are reversible.
