Neck Tie Quilt

This was my first Neck Tie quilt using the Dresden template.  Having seen this pattern but not having instructions, I had to figure out the number of ties per 12" square that would fit perfectly in the corner.  This was a order from someone at my office where I worked.  The ties were from the clients father who was a salesman and did a lot of traveling.  Out of 150 ties she gave me110 of the best ties.  I never expected this much work on one quilt.  Over a 4 month period it took me 140 hours of work.  Her father had passed and she gave it to her mom as a keepsake.  I had to take each tie apart and recut the Dresden templates from the ties, then making little ties and sewing them to a white 12" square.  I grouped them by color and design.   However I did not copy the quilt exactly the same as I saw it, I changed the border design.  I made small templates and used the same grouping of the ties and to break them up I took the Tie Labels and sewed them to white white fabric.  Therefore, making use of everything.  I waste no material.  I loved this quilt.

Hanukah Table Runners

These were made for a Hanukah gift.  Table Runners, fabrics had metalic accents and very festive.  Both were reversible.

Enjoying Golfing

This was my golfing quilt I made several years ago, it fit the top of a king size bed.  Custom Order for my friends boss, as a birthday gift, who loves golfing.  He and his wife were so impressed with it.  I wish I could have seen the look on their face when they opend it.  Being Italian I used two of the colors of the Italian flag, red and white.  Those of you who quilt know how hard it is to move this much fabric through your sewing machine.  I really enjoyed making this quilt and was very pleased that they enjoyed it so much.  His coments to my friend were "This is the best Birthday Present you could have given me."

It has been a while

Since I posted to this site.  I also have a Face Book site unter the same name "Ankas Quilts and Other Quilted Creations" please look me up.  My recent additions are on the FB page.  Please check it out, I only ask that you leave your first name and what city and country you are from.  It amazes me that people from all over the world visit but never leave a coment or where they are from.  I quilt all my own quilts, wall hangings, place mats and table toppers and anything else I make.  To me that is the challenge, yes having it quilted with a long arm quilter is amazing with all the beautiful patterns they have, however that in my opinion does not give me the right to say I quilted the quilt.

The below table topper, which I quilted myself with a lot of detailv as you can see on the back.  The center is a Dresden pattern .

Have a Blessed Day and I hope to hear from some of my fans.  You can also post to this site.
